LEGAL
Terms
Draft, pending legal review. Valkyrie is made by The Forge, a division of Gatz Holdings LLC.
Using Valkyrie
Valkyrie is a one-time purchase from the Mac App Store. Buy it once and it is yours to use on the Macs your Apple account covers, under Apple's standard licence terms.
Your files
Your photographs and videos are yours. Valkyrie moves, copies, renames and deletes files in the locations you point it at, on your instruction. You are responsible for choosing those locations and for keeping your own backups. Deleting is deleting: purges sent to the Trash can be reversed from the Recent Actions trail, and permanent deletes cannot.
Virtual Bracketing and Huginn
Virtual Bracketing renders your files through the film simulation library you keep in Huginn, and requires an active Huginn Pro subscription. That subscription is sold and billed by Huginn, not here, and is governed by Huginn's own terms. Valkyrie reads your library and your subscription status from your own iCloud account.
Your camera
Valkyrie reads from cameras and memory cards, and during Virtual Bracketing it asks the camera to render files it already holds. It never modifies camera firmware. Connecting a camera to a computer is done at your discretion and you are responsible for your own hardware.
Availability
We aim to keep Valkyrie working, and it is built to keep working offline and without us. Software has bugs. Valkyrie is provided as is, without warranty, to the extent the law allows.
